The Lantern Festival marks the 15th and final day of Spring Festival celebrations. Cities are decorated with elaborate lantern displays, and families eat tangyuan (sweet glutinous rice balls) symbolizing reunion. It's a visually spectacular evening festival — lantern riddles, folk performances, and sometimes dragon dances. From a travel perspective, this is when Spring Festival disruptions begin to ease: transport is still busy but manageable, and most businesses have reopened.
